When I first learned that people skip over the Frodo/Sam scenes, I was stupefied. Not only are they crucial to the story, but they’re also a wonderful break from the sometimes overwhelmingly depressing big picture. Just when I start feeling desolate about the evil in the world, it cuts back to the two small hobbits and they give me hope.

Whenever I watch the movies, I fast forward through the Frodo and Sam parts. I know they’re important, but I can’t handle how sad they are.

Sam really needed to get more recognition, because if he hadn’t killed those four orcs, Frodo wouldn’t have destroyed the ring.
